Postdoc position GEOMAR

The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is offering the position of Scientific Employee (PostDoc) in the research unit “Experimental Ecology - Food Webs” of the research division “Marine Ecology”


Job Description / Duties
GEOMAR is looking for a theoretical ecologist to model biotic interaction in marine ecosystems with special emphasis on recent developments in the theory of biodiversity, e.g. the neutral theory of coexistence.

Qualification
• a doctorate in Biological Oceanography, Ecology or an related subject
• a PhD-thesis proving the relevant skills
• topically relevant publications 
• experience in the cooperation between modellers and experimentalists

This is a full-time position time position. The position can be split. The position is available for an initial funding period until 31.12.2016. The salary depends on qualification and could be up to the class 13 TVöD-Bund of the German tariff for public employees.
